New data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) indicates that the UK’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.1% in May. This modest expansion follows a revised 0.1% contraction recorded in April, signaling a stabilization for the country’s economic output.

Economic Resilience

Analysts note that the growth aligns with earlier projections. The recovery comes despite external headwinds, specifically the upward pressure on energy prices driven by geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. While the growth rate is flat, it suggests the economy is holding steady against inflationary challenges.
